County Fire District No. 2 maintains two fire stations: Headquarters
Station located at 377 N. Eastmont Avenue in East Wenatchee and
Rock Island Station in Rock Island. They also have a Pumper at Pangborn
Station located at Pangborn Airport in East Wenatchee.

Link Transit
is the public transportation provider for Chelan and Douglas Counties.
They provide fixed route and paratransit service to 14 communities
in the two-county area. Each day almost 2500 people use Link to
get to work, school, medical appointments, and other destinations.
In the ten plus years that Link Transit has been in operation, over
13 million people have used the service.
North Central Regional Library's (East Wenathee) mission is
to promote reading and lifelong learning. The helpful staff in our

Pangborn
Airport is where Clyde Pangborn and his co-pilot, Hugh Herndon
Jr., made history with a non-stop flight across the Pacific Ocean.
The origin of the flight was Misawa, Japan, with a possible destination
of Seattle, WA. But there were problems in Seattle, the weather
was not good enough for a safe landing. Pangborn flew his Bellanca
Skyrocket, with its 425 horsepower Pratt & Whitney engine, into
the clearer skies of Central Washington, finally making a safe landing
in East Wenatchee.

transportation planning in the three county region of Chelan, Douglas
