Pangborn-Herndon Memorial Park
Pangborn-Herndon Memorial Park, located at 2326 Grand Ave (map)
in East Wenatchee, WA overlooks the Columbia River, the East Wenatchee
and Wenatchee Valleys, giving visitors a panoramic view which is
a perfect location for area photographs.
This park is used primarily as a vista view point by tourists and
photographers - benches and a drinking fountain are available.
A monument commemorates the historical landing of Clyde Pangborn
and Hugh Herndon upon completion of the first transatlantic nonstop
flight.
Pangborn-Herndon Memorial Park is listed on the National and State
registries for historical locations.
The park was donated by WENAIRCO in 1968 and originally included
six acres. In 1985 the deed was rescinded and reissued to only include
one-half acre.
